TOURNAMENT SUMMARY
The 2020 PDL was contested again in Palm Springs, CA at the famous La Quinta Resort, home of the American Express Championship on the PGA Tour. The tournament was highly competitive with all teams pinnacling with the Singles competition on the very difficult PGA West course, designed by Pete Dye.
The first 2 days of competition ended with Pink Ticket, with McManamy, Harrick, BT, and Winn narrowly leading the Rat Pack with Bird, Rankin, Proutt, and Palmore by 1 point. On Singles day, the anchor match came down to Bird and McManamy. Coming down the stretch, Pink Ticket and The Rat Pack were tied with Bird and McManamy’s match all square through 17 holes. While their match was a total seesaw all day with both competitors trading leads, McManamy managed the winds better on the 18th and was able to get up and down while Bird choked with a 3-putt to hand the 1 up victory and the entire Ponce to McManamy and Pink Ticket/
McManamy was deservedly named MVP. Fellow team member, Chris Harrick was the only player to go undefeated on Pink Ticket. A great time was had by all in the desert!
